Leadership
Dr. Phillip Sandifer
President
Phillip has spent 40 years composing, producing, and distributing music in the music and broadcasting industries. And, for 20 years led creative arts and communications departments in large churches in Texas and Kansas. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with Masters degrees from Texas A&M, Clemson University and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Covenant Theological Seminary. He earned his PhD in Human Capital Development (HCD) from the University Of Southern Mississippi.
Phillip founded The School Arts Initiative having become increasingly burdened by the diminishing fine arts budgets in American public schools. He has a conviction that fine arts studies should not be considered "extra-curricular". Instead, participation in the fine arts should be a "core curriculum" component, properly funded, towards the education of American youth. Phillip has 4 grown children who were all educated in the Texas and Kansas public schools and universities. He lives with his wife Rene just outside of Austin, Texas.
